Begin a conversation with video. Here’s some ideas…
Popularized by Hulu, Yahoo, and CBS, this campaign strategy has been shown to increase video ad effectiveness by 290%. Generally associated with video ads that play before or during premium video content, the underlying effectiveness is the same anywhere a video can play: on a brand’s home page, on landing pages, or even in display ads and apps.
Example. Massive media buys no longer have to mean generic content. We made three short videos all with a similar message touting the speed of the new Verizon 4G LTE service, but targeted to three distinct demographics.
How it works. By providing 3 or more targeted video content options and allowing the viewer to choose the content most relevant to them, you’re interacting with them instead of talking at them. This is what the digital revolution is all about: “content on my terms.” Viewers are happier, and the brand is rewarded by deeper engagement and recall of the ad’s message.
For a startup or new brand, a good video turns that crucial first impression into an experience. Video also happens to be twice as effective as driving user action than other forms of web content. And while a flagship video can live on a company’s home page, its most important role is as tireless ambassador out in the social web.
Example. Inktip is a film/tv industry service for screenwriters and producers that’s so cutting edge, they realized they needed a way to quickly communicate what exactly their service could do. We worked with Inktip to shape the exact message they wanted to send, and it paid off. In the months following the video’s release on their front page, signup requests poured in, and it became clear they had gotten the message across to a market of industry professionals they had previously been unable to reach.
When’s the Right Time for a Brand’s First Video? There is a growing acknowledgement of the importance of video even as early as the initial funding stage. A video can do more than simply explain value to a customer, it can communicate a company’s vision to investors, partners, and allies. As you open your doors to the public, a video helps you welcome people in, introduce yourself, and invite them to take action. Any time you’re launching a new product, the offering can always benefit from clear communication to the public, and video is now an accessible part of that. At any stage, we strive to create content that evokes emotion and enjoyment, that tells a story, and gives the brand a style of its own that people experience and remember.
Since opening its doors in 2006, AUTOMATON CREATIVE, the services division of Food for the Moon Productions, has been generating video content for some of the largest brands in the world. Founded by filmmakers Rene Amador and Jocelyn Hsu, we’re a full service commercial production company composed of filmmakers who love cinema and want to have a million of its babies. We focus on telling the story of a brand or product with imagination and enjoyment.
Our offices are located in Los Angeles, CA. We use robust remote collaboration tools to serve distant and international clients.
COMMERCIALS. For television, web, display, and more. We have experience in a wide array of disciplines, from performance to animation to VFX.
PROMOTIONAL VIDEO CONTENT. Music videos, industry videos, instructional content, cross-promotions. We can work across multiple techniques to communicate a client’s message without the trappings of an old-fashioned hard sell.
FULL-SERVICE. We’ve served on ad campaigns in every capacity, and nothing can replace a full-service production team with a plan that goes from conception to delivery. So that’s what we do, and we’ve found it empowers the creation of dynamic, energetic, and most importantly, clear messages.
